Golf is a very old game and the exact origin is still unclear, however the most accepted theory is that the game originated from Scotland in the 1100’s where Scottish Sheppards knocked stones into rabbit holes in the place where the famous St. Andrews Golf Club now sites.
With only about 400 golf courses world wide in 1890, the game of golf expanded tremendously and today we count approx. 16,000 golf courses and over 50 Million golfers in the US alone.
